A haven of peace
At 10 miles from Vallon Pont d’Arc, the famous gorges of the Ardèche and the « caverne du Pont d’Arc”, the replica of the Chauvet cave (registered in the Unesco World Heritage), in the heart of the village of Balazuc – labeled as “one of the most beautiful villages in France” and “village of character”, we are pleased to welcome you.
Clinging to rock cliffs with an overview of the Ardèche river, the fully restored castle, built in the 11th and 13th centuries, is our home where we live all year round. Hosting guests is our passion and we welcome guests like good friends.
We make sure that the atmosphere is warm and friendly, full of charm and far from what one would find in a hotel. To preserve this conviviality, our capacity is limited to six guests. In this property, saved from destruction a few years ago, and with its resolutely contemporary decor, you will be our welcome guests. Our house is gay-friendly.
An authentic setting
Three rooms – one with a private terrace – bathroom or shower, separate toilets, a large living room with fireplace, heated swimming corridor and a jacuzzi, hearty and homemade breakfast, aperitif every evening on the terrace or in the living room : everything has been designed to make your stay unforgettable.
Who are we?
A few years ago in another life, we were both written press journalists in Paris. The idea to open a guest house didn’t just spring to mind; it matured gradually over about fifteen years until the eventualities of professional life freed us and allowed us to transform this dream into a tangible project. This was in line with our desire to meet and share our lifestyle with others as well as our need to get away from Paris.
Although Florence’s family is from the southern part of Ardèche, it was by complete coincidence that we discovered Balazuc in 2010. It was love at first sight for this magnificent region: its culture, its people and its breathtaking landscapes. It is our greatest pleasure today to allow you to discover this superb region which marvel us at every day.
